Kiss of Midnight (The Midnight Breed, Book 1)

Kiss of Midnight - Lara Adrian Kiss of Midnight started out a bit slow for me... Not for lack of exciting events or intriguing suspense, because it totally had both! I'm not sure why, but it took me awhile to get into the story. *tears* I didn't get sucked in until page 100 (roughly), then I couldn't put it down!I'm extremely choosy about my paranormal, testosterone ridden alpha males. I know right? Lucan was 'Oh my God' sexy and a vampire to top it off... but his 'species' was derived from... wait for it... aliens. *cringe* Not my cup of expensive coffee if you catch my drift.I'll do zombies(although I can't take a zombie romance, I mean they are the BRAIN EATING, undead! I just can't get all swoon-y over that.), shifters, wolves, demons, faeries... basically anything paranormal- except aliens. I just can't see the appeal! Now, Lara Adrian absolutely does NOT focus on this small aspect of history at all. It's not even a large part of the story, but every time 'Gen One' was referred to I was reminded. I totally just pretended that I missed that page. Totally skipped over it I tell you! ;)Kiss of Midnight was full of hotter than hot alpha males, complete with a strong leading lady and steamy sex. Why yes... all of my very favorite things!
