White Trash Beautiful (White Trash, #1)

White Trash Beautiful (White Trash, #1) - Teresa Mummert Would've been an AWESOME book if it was longer and had more detail... Everything was too rushed for me.
Out of Breath (Breathing, #3) - Rebecca Donovan I can't WAIT for this one!!

Reason to Breathe (Breathing, #1)

Reason to Breathe (Breathing, #1) - Rebecca Donovan Emily “Emma” lives in a nightmare of her aunt’s rage and her uncle’s ambivalence to the abuse she endures daily.Emma lives continuously in her terrifying reality to keep her small cousins safe from their mother’s unwarranted hate. Her best friend Sara is the only light in her dark existence, and Emma won’t let anyone else into her life.Until Evan refuses to let her avoid him and ends up slipping past the mile high barriers that Emma’s put up around herself. As her aunt’s abuse escalates to a horrible brutality, no one can overlook that something very wrong is happening to Emma at home. That’s when her aunt finally goes too far.Reason to Breathe was a look at one girl’s traumatic reality. Throughout the entire book, I was unceasingly praying for Emma’s escape. Rebecca Donovan wrote an intense, highly emotional story that filled me with hope and despair.Absolutely amazing read. I can’t say enough about the emotional depth of Reason to Breathe… Read it as soon as possible!

Zombie Princess Apocalypse

Zombie Princess Apocalypse (The Oddities, #1) - Jeffrey John Eyamie Zombie Princess Apocalypse starts out with a sort of… Scientific explanation of how the world was created or something… Yeah… I got no idea. But I was laughing thinking, “WTF is happening?” Because I do not who is talking or WHAT they’re talking about- but it’s funny as hell.“Professor Pipsqueak, I will rouse a horde of social networking berserkers against you and you will be shamed into coming to your senses!”Right? Lol as far as I can tell… Someone is giving a lesson on how the Earth came to be and he’s either insane- or one of those awesome teachers that you ACTUALLY learn from! One in the same am I correct?Turns out, he’s a carny with the Brownings Traveling Oddities!Emm was born in an igloo and orphaned by age six. Her and her stepmother, Steph, travel with the Oddities until Emm’s sixteen. Then they settle in a little town called Modesta, California and she’s never felt more out if place. As much as she hated being a carny, she hates suburbia more. Before she was even born, Emm’s mother had a dream that Emm was supposed to basically end all of humanity to make way for a new age. Holy crap! Her first day at a regular school doesn’t go very well at all, and Mr. Blake, the guidance counselor is a very strange little man who give her a key and tells her to go to “Mavis at the mall” and everything will turn out okay.“It was the kind of key you’d use to open a massive treasure chest, or the diary of a giant, or prison doors from from the dark ages.”She does meet Olly, and he is SO my kinda guy! While giving a presentation on Global Warming, he talks of surviving the Zombie Apocalyse… Complete with visual aids!Olly stands up for Emm after the resident “mean girl”, Jessica, embarrasses her in front of the entire class. Yeah… at this point I’m hoping Jessica is ripped apart by the zombies, and there’s not even enough left of her to reanimate. Just sayin. (yeah… I feel HORRIFIC for still putting that in my review after I’ve read the whole thing!)We’ve got Loyal John, Lucky (the REALLY OLD… super young and sexy guy), Olly, Emm and an “Devil Wears Prada” type villain chick turning everyone into zombies! Um… yes. ZPA is all sorts of fabulous!Zombie Princess Apocalypse is really a fairy tale… with princesses, frogs, evil witches and magic. Oh! And a princess tiara that will turn you into a zombie. I was completely taken by this book. I don’t know what I was “expecting”, but I got SO much more than I could’ve hoped for! This is SUCH an awesome book, I cannot WAIT for League of Justified Vengeance to come out!!!!BB Warning:Do not leisurely read this outside or in public… people will assume you’re a psycho as you laugh so hard that you begin to choke. Just sayin. Don’t say I never did anything for you. (ZPA is one of those books that you have to read it in it’s entirety, so before you ask yourself, “THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!” Just be PATIENT! )

Jenny Plague-Bringer: (Jenny Pox #4)

Jenny Plague-Bringer - J.L. Bryan OMG! OMG! OMG! *deep breathe*I fell IN LOVE with JL Bryan’s Jenny Pox series in September of 2011… When I devoured the entire series in less than a week! If you NEVER read indie authors, indie books… Whatever the case may be- READ The Paranormals series by JL Bryan.It. Is. AMAZING.Jenny Pox will RIP your heart out, make you fall in love and believe that ANYTHING is possible. And the last 15% will leave you in utter disbelief and complete *OH MY GOD!!!!! NO FREAKING WAY THAT JUST HAPPENED!!!!!* It’s absolutely and 100% one of my Top 3 favorite books of ALL TIME.Tommy Nightmare is just as fantastic as Jenny Pox- in a whole different way.Alexander Death is… Um… It’s Alexander. Duh.And let me reiterate that the Jenny Pox series is NOT a young adult series! It’s New Adult/horror all the way! It contains sexual situations, violence and SO MUCH AWESOME that its hard to wrap your head around it!Jenny Plague-Bringer is told in alternating POVs, which by the time you get to the forth book- you know all the characters so well, that it’s REALLY fantastic to hear from everyone and get inside their heads! I LOVED it- kudos JL Bryan!Jenny and Seth hold residence in France, where they meet Mariella… Whom came to their door searching for a boy that she incessantly dreams of every night… (*ahem* aka: Seth.) Jenny doesn’t trust Mariella and sends her away, knowing by the gloves that she wears that she must have some kind of paranormal ability also.“Do you know what my touch does?” Jenny asked he, stepping on the escalator. “It brings pain and death. That’s all I’ve ever been to anyone.”Tommy and Esmeralda are living day to day with no plans for their future until Ward and his cronies come to call. They want Tommy and Esmeralda to join their ranks “for the good of our country”. Tommy goes with them, but Esmeralda doesn’t!But Ward is greedy and he wants ALL the Paranormals under his control. So anyone who refuses to go with him WILLINGLY, may not be given a CHOICE later.OH MY GOD, right? We learn a lot about The Paranormal’s most recent past life in Jenny Plague-Bringer… It’s mystifying and completely thrilling!Sexy, horrifying and absolutely mesmerizing! Jenny Plague-Bringer is second only to Jenny Pox! FREAKING AWESOME!Oh… You wanted to know about the baby mentioned in the synopsis???? Ha! Not telling!!!!! You have to read it for yourself!

Splintered

Splintered - A.G. Howard

Poison Princess (Arcana Chronicles)

Poison Princess - Kresley Cole Poison Princess locked me in a trance of mesmerizing awesome from the VERY first page. No… I’m absolutely serious.Evie has been lured into a madman’s lair… And it’s utterly chilling to hear his horrific and terrifying inner monologues as he tricks Evie into sliding deeper into what promises to be her worst nightmare.“My lair looks safe, warm, grandmotherly. It should; an old woman lived here before I slaughtered her and made it my home.”*gasp* I know right?! The “price of entry” is that she has to recount her life before and after the Flash. He claims to be making a chronicle of events and experiences of events leading to the Flash and how people coped with the aftermath. The Flash was a catastrophic event that killed most of the world and wiped any form of vegetation right off the map.So as Evie launches into her tale, her story begins one week BEFORE the Flash and just after she was released from the mental institution. We meet the boyfriend… Who doesn’t impress me too much. We meet the BFF, Melissa…“Mel was a hyperactive wild child who was a stranger to shame and had never acquainted herself with embarrassment.”And we meet the band of Cajun misfits who have been thrust into suburban hell by a new bridge that put them in an entirely different school district. Jackson, the fiercest one of them all WON’T quit staring at her with his disarming grey eyes and devil may care attitude. We meet Jackson. Who. Is. EPIC. Complete with the sexiest accent I’ve ever READ. Seriously, usually “accents” in books tend to irritate me- but Kresley Cole did an absolutely amazing job with the authenticity, with made it even more appealing!I LOVE Evie and Javkson! There’s no insta-love… No triangles… They honestly don’t like each other very much! Except buried under all that hostility, is a SUPER cute romance! They trek across country, searching for Evie’s grandmother and along the way they meet people from Evie’s visions… Members of the Major Arcana.Evie was told long ago that she was the ‘Empress’ … Then they meet ‘The Moon’ in the form of a super hot chick who is seemingly MADE for Jackson! Then Matthew who has made the most appearances in Evie’s visions has put out a call for help, as he’s DROWNING and Evie, Jack & Selena (the moon) are a state away.I KNOW.Matthew is The Fool card of the Major Arcana, and seemingly Evie’s greatest friend and ally. They meet Finn, The Magican, while being held captive in a slaving camp.I loved EVERY SECOND of this book! Poison Princess is utterly mesmerizing and fiercely captivating!! Without a doubt the BEST post apocalyptic book I’ve read ALL YEAR!

Run the Risk

Run the Risk - Lori Foster Pepper Yates leads a very boring life, charading as Sue Meeks because of some shady dealings her brother had been witness to. Then Logan Riske, cop extrordinaire, moves into the next door apartment… Acting as the building manager and hoping to gather intel on her and eventually bring her brother down. When push comes to shove, Logan can’t tell the good guys from the bad guys and it seems the only person he can trust, is the man he set out to catch in the first place.Pepper is wholly irritated with Logan, especially after he arrests her brother, will he be able to convince her to trust him again after he so blatantly mislead her before???? Will she trust him with her and her brother’s safety, AND her heart? We meet all the sexy heroes and most of their potential love interests in the first book of the Love Undercover series. Reese is a fellow cop and Logan’s partner. Alice, one of his neighbors is an EXTREMELY intriguing character, who is obviously harboring some massive secrets of her own. Dash is Logan’s super hot, totally carefree brother. And Rowdy Yates is Pepper’s brother- and he just can’t seem to catch a break!Dirty cops, bad guys, and secrets that may destroy them all. Run the Risk is dangerously sexy, suspenseful and absolutely everything I’ve come to expect from Lori Foster!I am DYING for Reese and Alice’s story in the Love Undercover series!!! Bare it All (Love Undercover #2) will be released in April 2013!

Bared to You: A Crossfire Novel

Bared to You - Sylvia Day Flagged, tagged & bagged as the new Fifty Shades of Grey- Bared to You is supposed to be bigger, better & sexier. So… Fifty Shades without Twilight drama. Truth be told I still have yet to even make it to halfway through Fifty Shades Darker.Seriously, when I kept seeing this book plastered all over Amazon and Goodreads and such, I pretty much ignored it. With the cover being SO visually similar to Fifty Shades, I assumed it was a knock off or a spoof and I wasn’t much interested… But then Tabby from Insightful Minds said I absolutely had to read it- so that’s pretty much all it took!Eva moved across country, from San Diego to the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her male, super model sexy roommate, Cary to start working as an Ad Exec. The day BEFORE her first day, she was scouting the territory and sees the most perfect man she’s ever laid eyes on,She sees him again ON HER first day, and SERIOUSLY I love the amount of M/M romance, love in this book! Eva’s boss is a gay man, and he and his partner are so in love and I just ate it up!!!! AND I was THRILLED to death bc I honestly thought it would end up being a freaking LOVE TRIANGLE OF DEATH.. Between her, the new boss and the super sexy guy she met on the elevator! No worries though… The boss plays for the other team, so we’re SAFE from the love triangle CRAP for now.And suddenly Dark & Dangerous (this is what Eva has dubbed the elevator man she’s been fantasizing about) is showing up everywhere… Coincidently. Meetings… More elevators…After a very productive meeting, he pulls her to the side and asks if she’s currently seeing anyone…“Because I want to fuck you, Eva. I need to know what’s standing in my way, if anything.”Right? Seriously, WHY is this so hot? Because literally in real life… Well, I suppose it’d still be pretty hot if hubby said it right outside an elevator – out of the blue… Off topic!Anyway so she’s thinking,“I’d never been so aroused. Never been so scortchingly attracted to another human being. Never been so offended by a person I lusted after.”That about sums it up though? It’s hot. But… How DARE you ASSUME and presume its OKAY to talk to me this way… Even if I like it? Lol!This is what I loved most about Eva’s character. She didn’t take any shit, she wasn’t a push over and she DID NOT waver… Oh I don’t know… I do… I don’t… *sigh* She was just her. Eva owned it, she wasn’t perfect, and she is the first to admit it- but she also won’t settle for less than what she thinks she deserves. And as it turns out, the company Eva works for, Cross Industries or Crossfire, is OWNED by none other than Mr. Dark and Dangerous, also known as Gideon CROSS. Ha. I love it.ANYWAY, turns out Mr. Tall, Dark and Super Sexy Cross has a lot of deep, dark secrets… What?! A tortured man, with a penchant for kinky, hot sex? Win. Yeah, I’m a sucker for a head case who needs to be be “saved”.Except of course he ends up, MESSING UP because he’s never been in a real relationship before, and Eva’s flight instinct takes over.I ran when the going got tough, because I was so sure it was all going to end badly. The only control I had was to be the one who left,But, Cross isn’t willing to live without her. He wants her- no matter what it costs him. And I LOVED it.“What you make me feel, Eva . . . it hurts.”“I’ve always seen you, angel. From the moment you found me, I’ve seen nothing but you.”Eva’s roommate, Carey- I LOVED him. I felt so bad for him… And his super self-destructive ways. He was an amazing supporting character!

Cornerstone (Cornerstone, #1)

Cornerstone (Cornerstone, #1) - Misty Provencher Dubbed “The Waste” by her peers, because of her mother’s compulsive paper hoarding, Nali Maxwell goes through the motions of life… She desperately wants her mother to finish just ONE book, and maybe they can quit living in and round stacks of paper.“In our house, no one notices the tiny square of clean wood floor where we kick off our shoes. That little patch is lost in the blinding avalanche of white paper that hides the rest of the house. Heaps of it fill every inch of our living room, an efficient blizzard of orderly, white stacks. My mother’s teeny tiny scrawl covers every inch of every sheet…”*gasp*Right? Can you imagine?Nali escapes her life by passing time at the library… Reading, doing homework- she has a nice little sanctuary where no one bothers her, or calls her names.Until Garrett Reese sits down next to her. When Garrett takes notice of her, that’s when everything fall’s apart- or comes together… however you want to see it! Jen, his wanna-be girlfriend freaks out… Nali gets ATTACKED by some crazy guy in the woods, wearing a mask, and talking gibberish! (You’ll never guess who it is!!)Garrett doesn’t care about the nasty things people say about Nali, he doesn’t care that her mother hoards paper filled with one line plot plans. He only cares about her. Awwwww!!!!!Choices…. Contego, Addo, The Fury and forgotten memories… Are only SOME of the things you’ll find in Cornerstone! The passion, heat and fire of two halves made whole is what sets this book apart!Misty Provencher totally blew me away! Cornerstone has it all- sizzling hot romance, tragic pasts and family secrets. You DO NOT want to miss this amazing start to what promises to be a fantastic series!

Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1)

Down to You - M. Leighton Olivia is bound and determined to not let the “Hot Stripper Guy” see how embarrassed she is when she’s baited into stopping him at her BFF’s bachelorette party. He’s shooting her super sexy smiles and thinking very UNprofessional thoughts when… in walks the REAL stripper for the evening! Turns out, miss Olivia had been dis-robing the OWNER of the club, Cash Davenport. The DEFINITION of “TO DIE FOR SEXY”.Much to her disappointment embarrassment, Cash leaves and she doesn’t see him for the rest of the night… But she sure does wake up with him on her mind! As she trudges to her newly acquired high class kitchen (thanks to her triple-S cousin – spoiled, snobby and snide) – WHO is sitting at the counter?!?!?!?!RIGHT?!Only it’s NOT Cash… It’s his IDENTICAL, much more respectable, responsible and JUST as über sexy TWIN brother, Nash!I should mention now that Down to You is told in alternating POV’s of Olivia, Cash AND Nash… Which makes for some REALLY interesting “inner dialog” among the three! Shhhhyea, I LOVED it!While her friends are encouraging her to go after Nash with all she’s got, Olivia is just NOT that kind of chick, even if her cousin Marissa doesn’t deserve him…“If I ever become a thief, Nash will be the first thing I steal.”While she’s undeniably attracted to Nash, and all his awesome “totally responsible and respectable” nature… She can’t fight the amazing chemistry that her and Cash share. And Nash is taken anyway… Right?“I fantasize about riding in the driver’s seat of Nash’s car. With Nash still in it.”She knows that Cash will end up breaking her heart, because she’s been down the “devil may care/badboy” street before. She’s not looking to head down that road again… If only Cash would quit being so intuitive and CARING! Olivia’s at a crossroad of sizzling hot passion with Cash or the forbidden goodness of Nash.“I’m getting into a bad place with Cash. And the worst part of it is, I don’t think I want to stop.”Who will she choose???OMG! You will NEVER guess at how Down to You plays out in the long run! Besides being hot and sexy, M. Leighton throws in a curve ball that I didn’t see coming until about 4 pages (and 85% through) before a SUPER HUGE secret is actually revealed! She’s epically awesome like that. The thing about M. Leighton’s novels is that EACH one is my favorite… Until I read her NEXT one. Then THAT one is my favorite! M. Leighton is a bright and shiny diamond among the hordes of indie authors out there.Down to You is steamy, sexy and super HOT! M. Leighton completely and absolutely knocked her first adult book OUT OF THE PARK! I cannot WAIT to see where this story goes!!!Then here are some quotes I HAD to include:“A whore and a head case.”“It was in the freezer. Apparently when I took out the vodka, I set the remote control down.” -Ginger< -- this is SO something I would do!
Shark Bait (Grab Your Pole #1) - Jenn Cooksey You should be reading Shark Bait. Right now. Like this instant. If you like fun (mature) YA, contemporary romance... With a whole lot of KICK ASS- this book is for you. Adding Shark Bait to my list of FAVORITE books ever. You will too, after you read it! Can't wait for book 2! [full review to come]

Undead

Undead - Kirsty McKay Okay... FIRST, I feel it DETRIMENTAL to my very existence to mention the dedication in this book! (which for the record, I rarely notice- but it appears I may have to start paying more attention.)For JohnGobble, gobble, gobbleHehe... I feel like this is made of win! I don't know who John is, and I don't know if Kirsty McKay was referring to turkeys or zombies- but I don't care because either way, that's an epic dedication.Moving on.Bobby is a super, epic chick of AWESOME... Wrapped in witty sarcastic charm and coated with attitude. I loved her! Can you tell? Is it obvious?Having recently moved BACK to the UK after spending the last six years in the US, Bobby is feeling very angsty and irritated!"When we moved to the US six years ago, they thought I sounded as British as the Queen. Now that I'm back in the motherland again, I'm like some weird hybrid, a freako chimera with an ever-changing accent."It's not helping that she's on the "School Trip from Hell". Which in all reality is a ski trip with all her new classmates before the new school year starts! Yep... That pretty much sounds like the definition of hell to me. But refuge is in sight, as they are FINALLY on their way home! When the bus stops for lunch at the Cheery Chomper (hehe), Bobby stays on board, unwilling to endure another lunch of solitude and having food tossed at her. Mr. Taylor stays because he's got the flu and Smitty... Because Smitty is trouble. Trouble swathed in leather and complete with a fake ID."an ink-haired indie kid in a leather jacket. Rob Smitty: rebel without a pause, freak show, and drop out in the making. But the best snowboarder, definitely. When I first clapped eyes on him, I was convinced he'd be the head of the underage drinking club - and he is - but dude knows how to throw himself down a mountain too. [...] Respect due, in spite of the try-hard guyliner and bad attitude."See? How freaking E-P-I-C is she? I know right? I LOVED her inner dialog! Smitty gets Mr. Taylor to go get him a sandwich, by cleverly threatening student cruelty and starvation or something... As soon as he's gone Smitty is trying to convince the driver to let them off the bus for some mischief or another when something slaps the windshield... then it comes AGAIN... only this time they see it's unmistakabley a hand- so the bus driver gets out to deal with the teen miscreants messing with his bus! Then something slams into the back of the bus, dazed and confused- Smitty gets out to see what's going on... What he finds is a puddle of blood and a shrieking figure in a blue coat running toward them!!!!Alice Hicks BARELY gets on the bus before Smitty locks her out (I'd have locked her out... Not even because she was a hateful witch- but because hands are smacking the windows, bloody streaks marring the snow... Then some crazy, screaming person comes running at me? No thank you. Just sayin.)"Dead!" she screams. "Everybody's dead!"HOLY.... OHMYGOD right?!?!Now, I know I went into a lot of detail there... But I COULDN'T HELP IT! And honestly... I didn't give that much away, according to my kindle- I was only 4% in by this point! We end up with the new kid, a badboy, a nerd, a pretty princess and a gas station attendant. Quite a band of misfits to survive the apocalypse... But these characters were fantastically portrayed! While I loved Bobby for her wit, snark and general awesome... I loved Alice's princess-y bi-polar!"Shanika's [her BFF] got my CoutureCandy bag, the bitch! Drive!" she says to the driver. "Run them over!"And Pete, the nerd extrordinaire, is convinced they're all being watched and everything that is happening is some elaborate scheme by the government or new world order. Whoever is behind it all has cutoff every means of escape and made it impossible to communicate with the outside world.Nobody beleives him. They think he's finally cracked."This is crazy!" [...]  "Of course there are cameras; they're everywhere these days! But it doesn't mean that they've all been planted to spy on us in the even of a zombie apocalypse!"Undead by Kirsty McKay was freaking AMAZING from BEGINING TO END! The actual plot wasn't something I NORMALLY get into, but the pure EPICNESS of the characters, the way they interacted and the dialog were enough to keep me reading well into the night and scrambling to grab Undead the next morning! Seriously, I'd read this book again today- just because! With that, I leave you with more quotes..."If I die right here, right now, I will be ashamed. What a fail. Struck down and eaten by a bus driver, for crap's sake, in Scotland, on a school trip.""Just because we can't see jack doesn't mean that Undead Jack and Jillaren't lurking in there with all their friends, ready to Cheerily Chomp on us.""for one horribly, desperately embarrassing moment we fly into eachother's arms like Shaggy and Scooby Don't.""Manic with a side of Musical Theater." ← and this has become my new tagline... for my LIFE. Just sayin!!!!Preorder UNDEAD on Amazon!
